THIS IS GEMINI CONTROL AGAIN THE REFERENCE IN THAT CONVERSATION TO THE THIRD AND UNIDENTIFIED OBJECT OF COURSE WAS [overtyped/struck correction, illegible] OR THE THIRD OBJECT WAS A BOGEY. THERE WERE SEVERAL REFERENCES TO THE BOGEY. AT 4 Hrs 24 MIN into THE FLIGHT THIS IS GEMINI CONTROL. - 1 - [PAGE 2] [Handwritten page. It contains references to sighting not only some particles but as well as an unidentified object, a plus the booster. Heres that tape we'll play it for you now -- S/C: -- Gemini 7 here Houston -- how do you read? Houston: -- Loud & clear, 7, go ahead. S/C: -- a bogey at 10 o'clock high (Borman) Houston: -- This is Houston, say again seven? S/C: (Borman) -- I said we have a bogey at 10 o'clock high. Houston: -- Roger. Gemini 7, is that the booster or is that a natural sighting? S/C: -- A what? Houston: -- Say again, seven. S/C: (Borman) -- We have debris up here -- this is an actual sighting. Houston: -- You have any more information -- estimate distance or size? S/C: (Borman) -- We also have the booster in sight. Houston: -- Understand you also have the booster in sight, roger. S/C: (Borman) -- We have very, very many -- a -- it looks like hundreds of [going by] a particles going by to the left out about 3 to 4 miles. It looks like a [word struck out] vehicle [words struck out, illegible] oh, about -- garbled -- it looks like a path of the vehicle at 90 degrees Houston: -- Roger, understand they're about 3 to 4 miles away S/C: (Borman) -- They passed now -- they're going into polar orbit Houston: -- Roger, understand they were 3-4 miles away S/C: -- That's what it appeared like, that's roger. Houston: -- Gemini 7, Houston -- were these particles in addition to the booster and the bogey at 10 o'clock high? [line struck out, illegible] S/C: (Lovell) -- Roger, I have the booster on my side. It's a brilliant body in the sun against a black background with trillions of particles on it. Houston: -- Roger, what direction is it from you? S/C: (Lovell) -- It's about at my 2 o'clock position. Houston: -- Does that mean that it's ahead of you?
