Particulars of Bright Objects Seen Over South Ladakh, North East Nepal, North Sikkim and Western Bhutan. Date: 4 March 1968, 1300 hours. Area: Chang La, Fukche and Koyul (Ladakh). Direction of flight: East to West. [Classification marking: CONFIDENTIAL, NO FOREIGN DISSEM/CONTROLLED DISSEM.] Particulars: One white light and simultaneously two blasting sounds were heard. Also, one reddish light followed by white smoke. [PAGE 4] Date: 19 February 1968, 2200 [hours]. Area: [seen over] Walungchung-go and Chhurisa area, NE Nepal. Direction of flight: North-East to South. [Also for Sikkim:] similar sighting; direction of flight rather confusing — reported as being from South-east to North-west over Thangu, Lachung, Lachen and Chholha... direction; also reported from North-east to South-west over [Nathu?] Lhamo and [Cho] Lhamo. The latter direction coincides with the one over Nepal and is likely to be more correct, since the date and time of the flight of object also coincide. Particulars: A fast-moving object, long and thin, red and green in color, as bright as to cause daylight. Thunder sound heard after few seconds of sighting of object. [The] object [giving off] light from tail, [bright] enough to [illuminate] the entire area. Thunder sound was heard several minutes after sighting the object. [PAGE 5] Date: 21 February 1968, 2130 [hours], Thimpu; 4 March 1968, 1300 [hours], Ane La area (Ladakh); 25 March 1968, 2150 [hours], Fukche, Koyul, Demchok. Direction of flight: East to West — however, since due east of Thimpu there is nothing but Indian territory, the direction of flight could well be from North-east to South-west, that is, from the direction of Tibet. Particulars: Object was following a circular path. Left a trail of smoke behind it. [Second entry:] Appeared from Chang La side and was seen moving towards Demchok, i.e. from north to south. Rocket-like object leaving white-yellow light trail about 20 [yards?] long, at a height of 20,000-25,000 feet. [Third entry:] A bluish colored object moving at high speed without any noise. It was bright enough to brighten the area. [PAGE 6] Area: Kulci region in NW Nepal. Direction of flight: Appeared to be north to south. Particulars: A blazing object, flashing intermittently, accompanied by [a] thunder sound, disintegrated over Kulci region. A huge metallic disc-shaped object with a six-foot base and two feet in height was found in a crater at Baltichaur, five miles NE of Pokhara. Portions of a similar object were found at Okhaldhunga.
